This report documents and analyses the scale, process and impacts of displacement caused by development projects and business activities. IDMC shows through nine cases in India that IDPs suffer detrimental impacts and rarely recover. As the world embarks on implementing the post-2015 global development agendas, IDMC calls for people displaced by development projects and business activities to be priority beneficiaries of development work.
