Launch of IDMC’s 2023 Global Report on Internal Displacement
11 May 2023 | 14:00 - 16:30 CET | CICG, Geneva and via Zoom
IDMC's Global Report on Internal Displacement (GRID) is the world’s most trusted source of data and analysis on the risk, scale and impacts of internal displacement.
This year’s report will be divided into two key parts:
Part 1: Internal displacement in 2022
This section will present global internal displacement data collected by IDMC throughout 2022, within the various political, economic and social contexts of different countries and regions. It will present figures on internal displacement triggered by conflict and disasters at the global level, as well as IDMC’s latest estimates on the economic impact of displacement.
Part 2: Food security and displacement
This section will contain data and analysis that show the complex relationships between disasters, conflict, food insecurity and internal displacement. This year’s report will present key dimensions of the relationship between food security and internal displacement, each, in turn, acting as a driver and an impact of the other, with both reinforcing lasting cycles of vulnerability and crisis.
